| At hospitals and chronic-care facilities and in home-care situations, the elderly and other vulnerable persons can often suffer injury from falling out of bed or stumbling while walking around. To prevent these incidents, and to ease the burden on nurses and other caregivers, Technos Japan has created a suite of fall prevention alarms. When a waking patient sits up or gets out of bed and steps on the floor, these systems alert caregiving staff by means of a chime or nurse call. |

When a patient leaves her bed, her feet alight on a sensor mat next to the bed, triggering an alarm. In hospitals, this alarm might take the form of a nurse call; in the home, it may trigger a portable beeper or chime. The type of alarm can be selected according to the specific needs of the users.
